Vaughn Brown, Creative Director and Founder
Growing up in Boise, Idaho, Vaughn was introduced to his love the of the outdoors by his father and his maternal uncle, Gene Parker Dusseau. Family backpacking trips evolved into a love of snowboarding, biking, skateboarding and surfing. His passion for the outdoors led him to the University of Utah and the Wastach mountains where he was able to pursue his passions while occasionally attending class.
In 1997, he moved to New York City, taking a job with EMI Records in Artist and Tour Marketing. Due to sweeping changes in the music business, Vaughn embarked on a career of digital media sales and marketing, going on to hold senior sales positions for established media companies like AOL, Primedia and International Data Group as well as well-funded startups TechCrunch, Vox Media and Bolt Media, Inc. He developed relationships with both clients and agencies including brands such as Hewlett Packard, Ford Motors, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and Dell.
Parker Dusseau is not Vaughn's first foray as an entrepreneur: At age 12, Mr. Brown founded Vaughn's Delivery Service, Boise's first bicycle messenger service and in 2004, he started Found Items, importing fashion and home accessories from around the world to upscale, boutique retailers in the United States.
Still an avid snowboarder, surfer, road cyclist and mountain biker, Mr. Brown takes his sales and marketing experience, passion for the outdoors, motivation and business acumen to launch Parker Dusseau, in honor of his late, beloved uncle.
